Emily Taketa, BS, Junior Specialist
Emily graduated from Tufts University in 2021 with a double major in Biology and Child Study & Human Development. She is interested in interdisciplinary hearing differences research that can further our understanding and inform our support of families with hearing differences. She is excited to continue this research as a UCSF medical student this upcoming year!
Noura Ismail, BA, Staff Research Associate
Noura grew up in Beirut, Lebanon and graduated from UC Berkeley in May 2021 with a double major in Cognitive Science and Mollecular and Cell Biology - Neurobiology emphasis. She is interested in the intersection between music, health sciences, social sciences, and medicine (especially neurodegenerative diseases)!
Yesai Park, BA, Junior Specialist
Yesai graduated from Mount Holyoke College, a place she holds close to her heart, with a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior. She loves learning, and so far she has learned how to bake, clay art, knit, crochet, compose music, make websites, box, swim, dance (hiphop and modern style), play instruments (piano, cello, violin, marimba, recorder, base and guitar). She is excited to be working at the Chan lab!
Ian Matthews, BA, Lab Assistant
Ian graduated from Hamilton College in 2015 with a double major in Mathematics and Physics. He has been with the Chan lab for 5 years and is a mouse whisperer!
Peu Santra, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar
Peu is a very curious biologist with specialization in cell and developmental biology, interested in research and development. Independent, energetic, collaborative and always excited about live imaging and all things-microscopy.
